Today, I am sharing with you a Christmas themed card project using the new Mama Elephant Yappy Woofmas stamp set. This set is absolutely adorable!
Christmas can be such a reflective time of the year. I wanted this project to emulate the past and present with photos. As you can see, the black and white photos are from the past, and the colored photo is the present. What a lovely reminder of memories for the recipient of this card. 🙂
To create this card, I started off with stamping all the adorable pups with copic friendly black ink. I colored four images with warm-toned Copic markers to represent the past photos and then colored a present picture with bright Copic markers. After coloring all the images, I added a bit of detail with a white Signo gel pen. Highlighting small areas onto your card projects can make a huge difference in the end. I believe, it adds character!
From there, I used the Mama Elephants Polaroid Fun – Creative Cuts die for the small and big photo frames. Also, I found the most perfect sentiment to tie the entire card together: “Christmas – a time for making memories to last all through the year”. This sentiment came from the Mama Elephant stamp set called, Merry Greetings. The word, “Christmas”, was heat embossed with gold glitter embossing powder onto the red frame itself, while the rest of the sentiment, “a time for making memeories to last all through the year”, was heat embossed in gold embossing powder onto vellum cardstock.
For the base of the card, I used decorative patterned paper as well as warm-toned Copic markers to create an edge that matched the coloring of my images. The fun scalloped edge was created using the Mama Elephants Basic Set – Creative Cuts. I cut two scalloped edges from the die set in order to break up the line between the patterened dot paper and Copic colored edge. It became more pleasing to the eye, in my opinion.
When all the elements to the card were created and put together, the last step was to combine it all into a scene. The entire scene was adhered to a top folding, A2 sized card base.
That’s it for this card project! Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope it made you smile! Please keep reading down below for giveaways and where to head next along this terrific Stampede!
